Spybait used like a jerkbait?

Featured Replies

I have read a lot about a spybait but haven’t had any luck with it. In the meantime I have done really well on a jerkbait. I know it says you should fish the spybait very slow like a finesse application. But has anyone had any luck fishing it like a jerk? It’s basically a sinking jerkbait.

It's really not anything like a sinking jerkbait. It has a long, thin profile, the similarities end there.

A spybait twitched like a jerkbait is going to do nothing but shoot forward and up quickly in a straight line, not dart and cut like a jerkbait. The attraction to a spybait comes from the subtle wobble during the sink and during the slow, steady retrieve.
