Zoom speed worm

Just curious about these and swimming style worms in general. What is your setup and terminal tackle for these? Are they productive around hard cover like wood and rocks or only around vegetation?

I wanna try some and have the colors narrowed down to basic green pumpkin and junebug

Yes, they work around all types of cover and you can rig them like any other action tail worm.
personally, I reserve them for fishing over and through vegetation.  Lilly pads and weeds that don’t grow to the surface are my most frequent targets. I rig them with just enough weight to get the tail moving when it falls.

I use casting gear, but most guys opt for a spinning setup. It’s a very subtle presentation that is a killer on those bluebird sky days, but works just about any time.

Come to think of it I actually have a pond that has a lot of submerged weeds...this sounds like a perfect place to try them.

Since you mentioned "swimming style" worms I assume you're talking about Ultra Vibe Speed Worms & not the original Speed Worms.

Setup:

Powell Inferno 7' Medium Heavy X-Fast

Shimano Calcutta 100A

Berkley Big Game 15#

Bullet weights: 1/64-3/8 oz

Hook: Mustard straight shank or offset round bend 3/0

Extremely deadly worm year round, in any cover, & at any depth.
