blue fox glow skirt spinner set

Featured Replies

Is anyone familiar with these lures or used them? I just grabbed some to try, but I am not sure if I should be adding trailers to the skirted jigs or not? How do you fish these?

Those are made to use just they are. If you like you can add short trout worm, or you just replace the whole jig with your own design. Baby shad is good for that as well as grub or small paddle tail type. You fish like spinnerbait just cast and retrieve, slow if you target panfish, faster and bigger lure for bass. They are also known as beetle spin. I caught a lot of bass on that when paired with 2.5-3 Zman swimZ.

I prefer 1/16 marabou roadrunner as my search bait for crappie (smaller profile, think underspin)and I caught a bunch or bass and crappie with those.

thanks my friend. Thats why i bought it, I thought cool it looks like a micro spinnerbait (still havent caught a fish with spinnerbait)....as for underspins go...the underspins I now have, are the first ever I have had. Not sure what type of plastics work best with them. I tried the crappie magnet with the roadrunner jig but no bites. I also thought the detachable spinner was cool cause I could put it on pretty much anything I wanted to try.

Roadrunner I have good luck with baby shad type plastic. I like roadrunner more because I can just slow retrieve, pop and let it fall, rip it, or even fish under bobbers.

Nice I have some plastics like that I need to try with the road runner. That is one thing I never fully understood, fishing small jigs like a roadrunner or trout magnet under a bobber. I dont see why the fish would want to hit the lure just dangling there with no action. Maybe you are supposed to pop it? or there needs to be a current? When I fish my secret spot with a waterfall, there is a bit of current, the jigs are so small, the current makes them go all over the place so you dont need to apply any action. I just cast and let the current take it until it stops moving or gets hung up, then just pop it once or twice, and let the current take it again. Something like this with a bobber would make sense to me.

Great lures for a bunch of species of fish.

I ordered a bunch of Bobby garland baby shad, let me know if you need some samples. The thin tail of baby shad always move with even slide movement of current/wave. To me, crappie don’t like too much or sudden movement. It either straight slow retrieve or on the drop for me.

The only two type of plastic I like and pretty effective is baby shad and tube with exception of CB slider at night and under bobbers. Crappie magnet is good but not as effective unless I spread the two tail or jigging it, on the other hand trout magnet is pretty good with bluegill.
