Trolling motor for sale?

Featured Replies

Does anyone in the NC area have a Trolling motor for sale? I have blown through my budget on this 1977 Glastron rebuild I've been doing and still need (of course I need it dw) a trolling motor. Looking for a bow mount 40 to 55 thrust and 45" shaft. If you know of one pretty cheap I'm I interested.

I have a 2018 model 80# tiller steer Minn Kota MAXXUM I would sell for $400.

Less than 4 months use.

I found out I just prefer a foot control

Appreciate the offer but I was needing to stay with a 12 volt motor.

I started with Craigslist but all that was there had already been sold and the poster hadn't  bothered to take down their post. (One of my pet peeves)

I just googled 1977 Glastron boats.  They look pretty heavy to me.   For decent performance, you're going to need a 24 volt system.  I don't think that a 12 volt trolling motor will cut it.

The boat itself is 900lb and can hold a max of 1085lb so about 2k lb. I think that I could get by with as little as 40#. I bought a Minn Kota Maxxum 70 just because it was $175 and with the cost of a second battery would be about what I expected to pay for a 12 volt unit. If you are on the lake and see a boat pulling skiers with just the trolling motor that would be me!

Thanks for the help all.
