I've seen it mentioned in several places that the screen for the 798 is bigger than the 797, yet all the publications I see show a 5 inch screen for both.

Is there truly a difference in screen size/

Not 100% sure but I think the only difference is the 798 has dual SD card slots while the 797 only has one. I've got a 797 and love it, only wish I would've went with the 997 or 1197.

I just bought the 798 today. I got a tutorial on all of em trying to decide what to get! The big difference is that the 798 has dual sd slots it can pick up XM weather in real time (doesnt sing but for the price it sure should) has a slightly bigger screen and the 798 can use the platnium nav. card which is kind of cool but pretty worthless in Indiana considering only like one of our lakes is done in the plat. style. Also has 50 Gps instead of 15 or 16 cant remeber so supposed to pick up GPS signal faster and higher res on screen. HOpe that helps.

Screen Resolution is higher 640x640 instead of 640x320 on the older unit.
