Outcast hair jig alternative

I’m looking for a jig that’s just as good for a little better price I’ve heard they are out there and have really no idea what I’m looking for

Are you talking about the Feider fly or the chicken jig? If you are talking about the chicken jig what kind of price are you looking for? Most hair jigs are going to cost more because they are labor intensive to produce but the chicken jig is a different animal.  Most of the "preacher style" jigs are going to be over $10 because the amount of material and the labor involved, if you are looking to get one on the cheap you may find some clearance jigs somewhere but there won't be many.

The Feider fly sorry. Is this a fair price I just seen the reviews on tackle warehouse saying it was over priced. I also have my own jig vice if it would be cheaper to tie my own just don’t know what I would need

It looks like they are marabou.  The really webby, woolly bugger type is not what you'd want to use.  You'd want to use the type with long strands at the ends.  They would be cheap to tie, but pretty labor intensive.  How much is your time worth to you?  That's what I ask myself before I tie something up that might take me awhile.

That isn't wooly bugger marabou on a Feider fly. Wooly bugger marabou doesn't have long enough fibers for that type of jig. They are probably select plumes and if you look at the marabou jigs on TW you'll notice the Feider Fly looks different, the collar is heavier and the feather is fuller and more uniform.

If you had read more carefully, you'd see that I said woolly bugger marabou is not what you'd want to use.

i don't fish a hair jig a ton, but i have a few VMC dominator marabou jig's and i've had some decent success on them when fished. pretty sure they're around the $3.00 range

Yep...LOL!!!!!! I saw wooly bugger marabou and thought nooooooooo!!! A long time ago I purchased it not knowing what it was, I expected long, thick feathers and you can imagine my surprise when I got the package and opened it up. Sorry for the confusion, I just read through it too fast and wanted to make sure nobody made the same mistake I did.

Marabou is a feather not hair, suggest searching Marabou jigs.

Kalin makes a bass size marabou jig about $3.50
