GLUE !!! 65 degreez??

Featured Replies

hey i just bought some carpet glue from Lowes in hopes of laying the carpet on my extended deck. its nice today & tomorrow but only about 56 degreez. the directions say not to use it below 65 degreez :-(.. if so has anyone glued carpet in weather under 65 if so did it stick ok?

I have done it in the 40's.  Probably not smart but who wants to lay carpet in the nice weather when you can fish.  It worked fine.   I would just keep the glue inside until your ready to use it so it goes on smooth.  I think the cold weather just slows down the curing process. JMO

Yes I have.  If you're speaking of Henry's 633, you'll have to make sure you roll out the carpet at several intervals of 1,2,3 and even 4 hours after intitially laying it.  The glue will set up but it takes much longer.

I just carpeted an aluminum boat and it was under 65. Once I had the carpet laid I put heat heat on the carpet using a worklight and a small propane heater. It worked like a charm....
