  1. very good point! and if someone is fishing a big body of water it would take alot of time to find a body if that person was fishing alone and offshore.
  2. It seems to me that it doesnt matter how fast your going towing or not theres always some A-holes that tailgate. your always holding them up and wherever they are going they have to GET THERE RIGHT NOW !!! And the idiots that pull right out in front of people will learn the hard way someday >
  3. I just replaced my brake pads on my Trailstar trailer, took it and the boat on a test drive to the lake about 4o minutes away. when i got to the lake i noticed that the bearing grease had oozed on both wheels. I guessed that the new brakes got hot enough to make the grease run. why? theres no adjustments so will this correct itself in some way?
  4. i like the idea of any collapsing net that i can get out of my way. if that net is big enough for you go for it. the price is right for sure. thats not big enough for Musky tho. i'd only have a net out for those guys. other than that i'd lip, swing, or grab at the boat.
  5. thats the reason o didnt get the Hiber-net. i wanted a net that i could put in my rod locker and then pull it out and use it for Musky. but looked like it wasnt big/strong enough. so for now looks like im getting a stowmaster soon. i havent found any other choices soo far.
  6. this one is cool... http://www.frabill.com/store/hiber-net.html
  7. seems like a good price to me.. depends on the condition and you can also check the blue book price on it. i have a 2004 that paid 12,000 for.. probably a lil high but it was in very good condition.. im very happy with it.
  8. can i piggyback this topic? I currently tow my Nitro 882 with my 1987 Astro with a 305 V8. terrible on gas, about 11 mpg and seems not alot of power. From what im reading here im guessing i'd get much better mpg and easier (power) towing with a older 350 2wd Tahoe? I've been thing of getting about a 90's model.
  9. x2 just get into a routine and you'll be fine.
  10. welcome ladies !!
  11. hey thanks man! i still have the sea nymph for the low horsepower lakes its a major change going from a 9mph boat to a 60mph boat... wow!
  12. hers my new one.. 2004 Nitro NX 882 w/150 Optimax (video) http://www.youtube.com/user/atfshow?feature=mhw4
  13. JB i appreciate the info bcuz i didnt know what was best for towing... i guess i was thinking the reverse, meaning if my revs sound higher then the drive gear is too much therefor shift to OD.. so i was just trying to get the scoop since i'll be towing a heaver boat this season. what about a slightly larger pair of tires on the rear of my van, would that help too?
  14. can i chime in?? I have a 1987 Astro with a 305 in it. For a few years i've been towing my 16 1/2 ft Sea Nymph in overdrive except up hills. I do have a tranz cooler. This year i'll also be towing a 18ft Nitro. I see alot of people saying dont use OD but if i did that my RPM's would be too high and mpg would suck even worse. so far i've towed the Nito from Michigan.. the tranny i have is a 700r4. so should OD never be used even on a level road?
  15. nice one, i hope you put lots of fish in it !!
  16. thanks for the info! after weighing out things looks like i'll be going with a used Nitro NX 882 soon..
  17. the rod locker issue is the part i dislike right now i wonder if the 2009 model fixed that problem? thanks for the very good info.
  18. shes a keeper! roughly what was the cost?
