I've got a 2018 Tracker Pro 160. It has a 3 pin base on the rear for the white navigation light pole. The light is way taller than it needs to be and really impedes the ability to fish on the rear deck at night. Problem is...I can't seem to find any shorter 3 pin navigation light poles anywhere? There are quite a few options for 2 pin options. LED would be preferred.

 

Any suggestions?

Check what the navigation light rules are in your state. The 3 pin means your stern light is used for both navigation and anchoring. A 2 pin is an anchor light.

 

I have seen in some instances that people have mounted a stern light to the cowl of the outboard, to avoid having a 4ft high light in the back of the boat. Is it legal??? I don't know.

Thanks I will check. I suppose a 2 pin anchor light does not work in a 3 pin mount right?

No, it won't ans a 3 pin won't work in a 2 pin socket. 

It’s supposed to be that high, for safety. 

It looks like that is just two pin.  Check in there and see if you have metal contacts for 2 or 3 pins.  That light should be just a two wire, positive and negative to the bulb. 

 

My stern light only has two metal pins in there, the third hole has no contact.

Ahh your right. It is actually only a 2 pin
