Gary Yamamoto Swimbaits?

Hey guys, I was looking in the Summer BPS Catalog and saw the GYCB Swimbait. I'm not sure how new it is or anything, but I just happened to come across it.

How good is it? How does it compare to other brands?

I'm looking to start throwing the plastic swimbaits where you need to insert the jig head type hooks into them. What are these called if they have a specific name? What are the heads called that go on these types of baits?

If I'm not mistaken, that's the Swimming Senko, not the actual swimbait...

That's what I'm talking about.

They work good in saltwater in San Diego we catch kelpbass and tuna and almost everything on em

they work good for when shad is present, fish a little 3inch bait that is shad colored and use a small owner darter head like a 3/8ounce or watever just cast it out on like 8pound spinning rod or conventional and wind it back really SLOW!! you cant fish the bait slow enough u can bump into thing on the bottom but be carefull cause there are not weedless

remember i fish in San Diego where everything is high pressured mostly finesse fishing, i would try it other places just cause i bet you no one has ever used one before.

here is a link that has the best swimbaits in San Diego (IMO)

choose any color and hang on!!!

Gotcha!

I don't know anything about those lures. I found the other thread pretty darn interesting since I have never fished the Senko Swimbait either. Maybe someone will post something on the lure you are asking about today.

Yah, that other thread convinced me to go get a few bags of the swimming senko. I've been throwing the super grubs and catching nice solid 3-4lb bass and tons of 2lb bass and smaller, figured the swimming senko maybe will get bass the next size up!

Well, you need to pick up some Kreatures, too. I don't know if you have seen some of my posts over the last several weeks, but I am KILLING them along weedlines in the morning on this bait. I am fishing (mostly) weightless and weedless, working it like a spinnerbait with a steady retrieve and an occasional twitch. Bud has reported the same results on Kentucky Lake fishing it with a light weight. The point is, we are both having much better success at the top of the water column rather than fishing it on the bottom like a tube or Senko.
