Anyone have issues with Tackle Direct?

Featured Replies

Ordered a rod from them on Saturday 7/18.  Received notice that my package was getting ready to be shipped on Sunday 7/19 with a tracking number.  As of today, tracking still shows "pre-shipment" and that it hasn't been picked up by USPS yet.  Anyone else have issues?

USPS tracking is notoriously sketchy and/or slow to update.  Have you called the retailer?

I've ordered quite a few things during Covid- tracking is slow and USPS has struggled lately, but they usually get the original scan right when they pick it up, especially after this much time.  Their phone lines are closed, servicing via email only.  I've sent them a couple already with no response...

I had similar issue with them about a year ago (so no Covid excuse). I ordered a rod and only got the initial confirmation. Crickets for about 2 weeks so I emailed them few times with no response. I finally called them to find out that they completely ignored my order (essentially) and they will initiate the process right away. Week later, still crickets so I called again to find out that the rod I ordered was not in stock (yet it was listed in stock on the website). I asked for the order to be cancelled and waited a long while for the refund. Left me with a bad taste so I have not used their services since.

It's the same at Tackle Warehouse. I placed an order on 7/10 and it's scheduled for delivery on 7/30. I really think they're just overwhelmed with orders because of all the lock downs.

Smh…. I only ordered from them because I couldn't find the rod anywhere else in stock... lovely

Not Tackle Direct, but I think this gives a clue that a lot of these delays with a lot of shippers, fishing or not, are Covid related right now. My wife ordered some new running shoes direct from Asics last week. She ordered on Wednesday morning. By Wednesday afternoon the status showed a Fedex tracking number and that the shipping label had printed.....continued to show that same status through until Sunday. Monday it finally showed that it shipped on Monday, with expected delivery on Tuesday.

I ordered some stuff on 7-14 and just like you, the next day I received my USPS tracking number. Up until this morning it only showed Pre Shipment. Well 2 weeks later, today its showing that its finally on the move. Its very aggravating especially since its very hard to get hold of any company now a days.

Not from Tackle Direct but I have ordered from places that us USPS that show it's in pre-shipping and it shows up at my door.   USPS tracking is far and away the worst.

Shipping is pretty much the same everywhere, especially with USPS.

Another +1 for blaming USPS rather than the merchant.

Seems like all my FedEx/UPS packages have been on time recently, but the same cannot be said of USPS ones.

Several occasions where stuff got lost for 2 - 4 days in some distribution center before finally being found and forwarded to my local area post office.

Results in packages being delayed by 3 - 5 days.

Definitely agree on USPS, they've been bad lately, but I've always at least seen the scan show up when it's dropped or picked up by the PO- at least after a week.  I FINALLY got a hold of someone at TD and they said it was shipped, but that USPS isn't scanning rods until delivery so I should have it soon.  We shall see....
