Help with fishing my pond.

Featured Replies

Here's the deal. I mainly almost exclusively fish my home pond. Description of the pond is as follows: roughly 2 acres, almost entirely muddy bottom, brownish water, shallow (deepest part 5ft. when full at 4ft. now). Maybe a third of the pond is that depth, the other 2/3 is 1-2ft. I live in Kansas so the water temperature is pretty high right now. Some cover around the bank, trees laid down, 1 tree overhang (was better last year until a beaver showed up and took out 2 of my best fishing spots). Hardly any cover in the open water. Oh, and way to much bait fish. Tons of gizzard shad. Mainly bass, from 1-5lbs and maybe higher. Some bullhead and a few HUGE crappie. What I am mainly trying to figure out is what are the best ways to fish a very shallow pond with high water temps. Thanks for any help everyone!

Bladed jigs have been really good for me lately in the warm, dirty water I've been fishing (should be almost the same temps you're seeing). Buzzbaits tend to be good in warm, dirty water as well at dark colored T-rigged soft plastics.
