ive got a 97 evinrude 9.9 outboard. i believe 2 stroke. i have had the same gas sitting in it for a couple months and i wanna take it out in the next couple weeks. is the gas still good?its been out in the shed which is fairly weatherproof. problem is i dont know how much gas is in the tank in order to put the right amount of oil. i dont want to screw this motor up i spent 200 to put new fuel line and water pump in. i am 16yrs old and dont have the money to blow if i break this thing. any advice on where to empty gas so i can put in new gas so i know exactly how much ive got in there!!??or any advice period

There is two choices here 1 try to pour it in to gas can to see how much is in there or 2 pour it out and start over.

Well, where are you and what kind of gas have you previously put in it? Does the fuel contail ethanol? If not you will be fine. If it has the ethanol you may need to add a stabilizer.

problem is i dont know how much gas is in the tank in order to put the right amount of oil.

Mix your fuel in a seperate fuel can and you'll know exactly how much you have.

when I fill my 2-storke up when gas goes in it the tank oil goes in the tank no guessing.
