#1 Trokar Weedless Finesse is my go to. I’ve tried the circle style wacky hooks and just had a really hard time getting used to simply reeling into fish as opposed to setting the hook more traditionally so I tend to stay away from those.

I started with circle hooks. IMO, octopus circle hooks are better. Hookup ratio was better and about 95% are hooked in the corner of the upper lip and stay hooked.

4 and 5 inchers... I would say the sweet spot, IMHO, is 1 and 1/0.

Bassbandit, it depends on the presentation and technique as to which hooks are best for wacky rigging a stick, trick, or finesse worm.

 

Add to the technique the type of underwater structure (brush piles, tree roots, stumps, pilings, drop offs, etc. 

 

Here are some examples:

Five Set Ups

Use a hook of your choice designed to be weedless for normal wacky fishing.

I like a #1 or 1/0 weedless Eagle Claw or Gammy in the middle of the bait under my shrink tube.

 

Texas rig the Senko or YUM, Power Bait,  Bio Bait, etc., with any hook and size you want, weedless or not weedless.

Sometimes I use a weedless hook while other times I will use a standard worm hook.

I put the hook point back under the Senko's skin.

 

Using a Provider jig head you can Texas rig the stick bait and fish it like a trick worm on the bottom.

Provider jig heads have a powerful 3/0 hook.

 

Don't forget the Neko rig using a stick bait.

 

You can also put them on your favorite buzzbait or Chatterbait and use those lures hooks.

 

May I suggest going to YouTube and looking up the Senko videos and see the different ones about fishing Senkos.

 

Your imagination is open on how to fish a Senko. There are no rules.

Yes, weedless VMC circle hooks.

I have seen the recommendation of putting the hook point back into the worm to make it weedless but I have not tried it. It looks like it would have a poor hookup ratio?

Plus one on Vmc Neko hook. I use 1/0 but after all my 25pks. is gone will switch to #1 instead. The second choice and for all other beside senko, I like trokar weedless wacky hook.

If I need to fish a wacky rig in cover and I need it weedless I've found the Fusion19 weedless wacky hooks to be really good.  They have a fluorocarbon weed guard that gets out of the way when you need it and the hooks are really sticky.
