Does rigging a toad lure weedless change the action

Featured Replies

I picked up some toads that were green pumpkin on the top and a white pearl color on the bottom. I don't have any double hooks that were made for toads or any weighted swimbait hooks and decided to just use a 4/0 superline ewg hook. Would my toad roll around a lot when just straight retrieving it? I feel that if it were to roll around it wouldn't look very natural to the fish.

I’ve always used 5/0 ewg hooks and haven’t had issues... I picked up some of the double hooks and they stink, bait rolls like crazy doesn’t work...

If you rig it a little short so that the bottom of the toad is slightly bowed like a boat hull it will come in right . If its bowed the other way it will come in upside down . If its perfectly straight it will do both .
