Frog question

Featured Replies

As fall is upon us, are the frogs still effective in the grassy ponds? Here in KY, it’s still warm, but water temps are dropping & grass & pads are still present. Wondering if frogs are still good to use when the air starts to really cool down. It was 80 today, supposed to be 38 Saturday morning. Thanks!

I'd keep fishing them as long as the fish kept eating them. You can fish a frog really slow which will help your odds of getting bit as the water cools off.

Last fall I saw a big fish come out of the water after a shad in 43 degree water.  Luckily my spook rod was still in the boat because I threw to that fish and caught it.  Sure never saw that one coming.  Especially around grass, bass will hang in there until the last thread turns brown and dies off.  Make them tell you they wont eat that topwater!
