Now if the temps would come up and wind would stop blowing like mad I could try it somehere besides the front yard LOL   Spooled it with 15lb Invizx.

I have mine since 10/30 & have had it out 3 times. I have 15 lb AbrazX on mine.  It's mounted on a Dobyns Champion Extreme HP DX 743 C FH. I was fishing with a weightless senko. I have to say that is a awesome set up. Santee Cooper has a size limit of nothing below 14" In the 3 outings I caught 23  keeper bass most were about 2 1/2 lbs & a few between 3 1/2 to 4 lbs  Saturday was the best outing ( least amount of wind).  I am sure you are going to enjoy that reel. With the mgl feature It would get that bait out there. It was also easy for me to set up as I have other Shimano Japanese reels.

I started in the yard with all four brakes on and either read to do this on this site, or another, but it works well for line control whereas all of my Shimano reels have two brakes on and the outside dial on either 2 or 3.

I bought an SLX MGL from Japan and noticed the brake drum was heavily oiled. I cleaned some of the excess oil off the brake drum and am able to use it now with two on two off, with the outside dial at 3 or 4. That's throwing a 3/16oz weighted baby brush hog. 

 

That Scorpion MGL was on my short list. Like the deep red. It looks like a sweet reel.

I will second this. I have several Scorpion 19's and they do perform better (for me) with all four brakes on. They are very smooth casting and there is little to no appreciable difference in casting distance.
