Nichols Metal Flake Spinnerbaits

Hey ya’ll,

Was thinking of purchasing some bluegill metal flake spinnerbaits from Nichols Lures. Probably single Colorado or single willow. My thought was that the metal flake blades would be more subtle than other flashy blades. Anyone else’s experience on the water match this and anyone like using the metal flake blades? Or should I go for something different? Hope everyone’s well.

Nate

I've never seen a single willow bladed Nichols metal flake bait. The Pulsator is an amazing bait with very high quality components and terrific color options. In my experience the flake coating does mute the flash somewhat but adds a different refraction and reflection that's very appealing. I would recommend going with gold blades if you're looking to tone down the flash.

Nichols has it as an option on their website for a single willow blade apparently. I'm intrigued. Think that would be an ultra-subtle spinnerbait in a 1/4 oz. But yes, I own a couple electrum pulsator spinnerbaits and am very impressed by their design. They catch fish too. Heard about nichols from this website. Thanks for your comment.

Metal flake pulsator is my favorite over the counter spinnerbait I've ever used. Swim straight...kinda compact for a subtle presentation....very durable....quality components.

I purchased a couple of the Nichol Pulsator Hoosier which is the single colorado blade and available in the standard colors. The particular lure is a little bit unique as it's the same weight as a standard 3/8oz spinnerbait but in a smaller profile, which I believe was why I got the two fish and not my youngest son fishing an otherwise nearly identical spinnerbait just in the regular profile.
