I lost one of the knob cover caps for my Aldebaran mg7. I'm having a hard time figuring out if there are any compatible knobs or knob covers that would fit the JDM handle.

 

I've spoken to local fishing tackle shops and they believe it may be easier just to get a new handle assembly. The newer factory handles are bent/offset so I'm not sure there is anything US Shimano Shop that I can replace with (I tried my Curado K handle, but the handle hits the drag star).

 

The current knobs are a bit worn, so I wouldn't mind replacing just the knobs. However, I'm hoping I won't have to replace the entire handle since the knob cover is mostly aesthetic. Any help would be appreciated!

Just about any shimano knobs will fit it. Chose whatever style you like and order straight from shimano. Just be sure to get the matching knob cap.

I personally really like the original style that came on those reels. I have replaced many other shimano knobs with that certain small septon knob. I'm not a fan of the large fatter knobs nor the newer flat style ones.

Or you can just order a new handle. I do find those older handles a bit short. I have replaced most of my shimano reels with at least 90mm carbon fiber handles.

I was hesitant to order from US Shimano since all the tackle shops around said jdm parts aren’t compatible. Sounds like as long as I get the matching knob cap I should be fine? Maybe I’ll get the Aldebaran Mgl knob.
