Fishing Gear for Tall People?

Featured Replies

Does anybody know where I can find fishing gear and shirts for taller people? I am 6'6" with a long torso, so I have to find items that come specifically in size XLT(thank god for Carhartt).  Pants and Boots/Shoes aren't a problem its usually t-shirts, hoodies, jackets I have a hard time find.  BassPros Redhead brand sells a few items but I am looking more specifically for the underarmour type material.  I've reached out to companies in the past willing to pay extra for custom made stuff in my size but have been turned down every time. Anybody else have this problem? At least I enjoy the one sport where funky colors fit in lol, because that's what most stores carry in my size for some reason. Ive been trying to seek out fishing brands that carry my size with zero luck.

You might check out Academy Sports. The Magellen line might fit what you need.

I have the same issue. I’m 6’6 and have trouble finding long-sleeved shirts and pants that are long enough. I’m also on the thinner side, so once I start getting into those 2XL+ sizes to increase the length, things start getting too baggy. I really need a LT or XLT. My current pair or fishing bibs looks like a pair of women’s capris ?

Lol, I get it man, I'm also thinner too.  Sizing up adds length and width.  Its definitely a pain to find "normal" fitting things.  I have a Carhartt store near me that actually sells some limited fishing stuff but hard to find the right size.  Flipping and casting from the bank into those tight spots also becomes a challenge to overcome with the extra arm length.  But I'm sure you've hung your fair share of lures around the tree cover sticking out over the water too lol.

When it comes to clothing, I pretty much stick to Carhatt and Duluth shirts, nothing fancy, no printed tee's etc because they're always too short. I'm 6'3", so sometimes I can order a size up but when I wash it, it usually shirnks.

How is Duluth? The closest one to me is about an hour away and I have yet to buy anything from them.

Their plain old tshirts are quite thick cotton - a little too hot for the summer. They're a little more solid than the Carhartts, which are far thicker than than most. They hold up well in the wash as well and don't shrink too badly. The only bad thing I can say is they seem to stain easier than most shirts for whatever reason.

I know I have a few other things from them as well, but I can't remember what at the moment.
