There has been a lot of discussion regarding ethanol and boat engines.  Has there been any studies done regarding the Nitrogen enriched gasoline now being pumped at stations like Shell?  

I don't know about the studies, but if I recall my high school science correctly, the atmosphere we breathe is 70 - 75% nitrogen, 20% oxygen, and the remainder, other gases such as carbon dioxide.

That means every internal combustion engine is inhaling large quantities of nitrogen.

I will not state that it's just a publicity gimmick, but I do have my doubts as to just how effective it is.

Biology is my thing, not chemistry. But wouldn't there be a difference in how it burns in the engine a liquid form vs burning in the form of a gas?

I would think in the liquid form it would do some work to the carbon built up on an intake valve. But then even if it did work it would really only burn some of the junk off so it would seat better in the head. :-?

Or could it possible clean the injectors somehow? :-?

I was reading an article about this the other day and all gas has additives in it. The article stated that the amount of additive in those specialy gases from shell and chevron may only contain a pint of the special additive in a whole trucker tank of gas. Not much to make an impact I wouldn't think.

Liquid nitrogen therapy is done by spraying this cold liquid onto the skin from a spray gun. Each skin growth that is treated needs to be sprayed three times. Ammonia, in turn, can be used directly (primarily as a fertilizer, and in the synthesis of nitrated fertilizers), or as a precursor of many other important materials including explosives, largely via the production of nitric acid by the Ostwald process.

Seeing as Ammonia is produced from the combination of nitrogen and natural gas (NH3) and liquid ammonia(ammonium hydroxide or NH4OH) is produced by the addition of water, whos to say they aren't just adding ammonia or some other nitrogen enriched compound like Nitric acid(oxidizing agent in liquid fueled rockets). Nitroglycerin, trinitrotoluene, nitrocellulose (used as explosives and propellants for firearms). Or modern drugs like nitroprusside (used to regulate blood pressure).
