Dobyns Sierra 7'3 Mag Heavy/Extra Fast

 

So I'm asking which would you choose and why.

Personally - I'd go with the 705 over the 735. I'm not a fan of X-Fast.

 

My current H/F (same line/lure ratings) has done fine for all my flip/pitch/frog work. I also use it for my large trebles (Super Spook, WP-110, etc) that my MH (Dobyns 4-power) can't handle easily. X-Fast for that would increase the chance of ripping the trebles out of the fishes mouth.

Thats the side I was leaning towards and pulled the trigger on the 705. There's always room for more.

*I would agree here - the Sierra 735C is better for bigger  4/0 ~ 5/0  EWG and heavier jig  / flipping hooks  moving fish quickly away  from cover .

The 705C is a bit less of a broomstick and will be a little more versatile as it will be better for things like casting a jig, carolina rig, frogs, etc. The 735C is meant more for flipping, but you can still flip with a 705C.
