Anyone know if the new Striker Vivid 7sv is just about additional color options or is there more to this unit? Already have an echomap 93sv for the console but need sonar/side view for up front at the TM. If it's just colors, I might save the hundred bucks and go for the older model. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Everything I've read says that the only difference between the Plus and the Vivid is the addition of 7 new color pallets. Everything else is the same.

Well, I asked the question (thanks MN Fisher), then found a great deal at academy for the 9sv and went that route. My daughter saw the "check out" screen on my computer and ratted me out to my wife. So now my wife is annoyed but we'll have 9" screens at both ends. ?

Noticed that no one suggested returning the fish finder.

Well I hope your wife forgives you, but the 93sv is a pretty sweet unit and you can get them at good prices right now.

I had a similar decision to make, except I was looking at the Striker Plus 5cv to go along with my ECHOmap 93sv and to also serve as my float tube and ice fishing portable.

 

I saved the bucks and bought the original vs. the "vivid" version as I could find no listed difference other than the colors.  It might be too small for me to see at the bow though.    Maybe I'll mount it at the helm and put the older 93sv up front.   Time will tell.
