Does anyone know if you can put a boat in summersville lake in the winter? I have never fished it but I am really wanting to. I know they draw the lake way down in the winter. Went over the dam yesterday and the boat access was closed at the campground. I know the marina is closed till may I think. Just looking for information. Any tips are much appreciated.

THERE ARE TWO RAMPS FOR WINTER - one at the dam and one off 19 just before the bridge. Can't remember name (salmon run I think)

Plum is a tough winter time lake.. Summersville is mostly smallies with a few good LMB scattered in. I’d look for smallies on deep flats in 20-30 ft of water.. They are sight feeders who look

for warm and sun so I’d pick a sunny day this time of year..

Use a depth finder to find flats as that is one heck of a deep lake. 

I've literally found spots over 300 feet there.
