Hi, all.  I was gifted frozen walleye filets.  I've always prepared/cooked mine within a day or two of catching.  Any tips on thawing/cooking walleye that's been in an ice box?  

Place just the frozen fillets in a different/new zip lock bag

and place them in the Fridge until thawed. 

Cook once ready.

Make sure you dry them off well with paper towels before trying to bread/fry them

If you are trying to thaw out frozen filets in a hurry, you can run cold water over them until they thaw.  This works for almost all frozen seafood.

All frozen meats actually. I've put frozen burger, steak, chicken, whatever in a Ziploc, then in a pot of cold water - let it sit a while. Check it regularly - but it does make for an easier time if you don't have anything ready.
