Money no object spinning jerk bait rod and reel

Featured Replies

I’ve got a casting 110 Megabass for jerkbait, but I just love spinning rods and reels and the distance I get with My minimal skills. I’m basically Megabass 110; juniors, plus ones and plus two.

Obviously looking at Loomis and orchi xx.  Reel probably Stella.

I can’t cast the Megabass with a Steez a country mile, but it’s easy to work. How do I replicate and exceed this with a spinning combo?

I mainly use my spinning jerkbait combos for smaller jerkbaits.

Exist 2000 on a expride 6'10" med light with 10 lbs J-braid, 8 lbs leader.

Stradic CI4+ 1000 on cumara 6'8" med with 8 lb nanofil, 8 lbs leader.

You may want a bigger reel and longer rod, if you want more distance. Also a vision 110 would require a more heavy action rod than what I use.

For raw distance, spinning tackle alone is a step in the right direction. 8-10# braid on a full spool and rod that loads properly. I like fast action, soft tip rods for jerkbait and top water.

Any pre-matched spinning kit from wally-world would cast farther, given your skills.  So, find the most expensive rig your heart desires and get it. :)

I don't know why you would want to throw jerkbaits on the most expensive combo you could buy, but if it makes you feel warm inside I would get a Stella 2500 FJ and a Conquest 6'6 M with 10 lb Smackdown.
