Thats what I would take it to mean also. Seeing that it has a hard boundary line, I’d lean more toward an extremely shallow marsh.

That’s just it.  I paddled there and it’s not a marsh. It’s no different from the rest of the lake.  Deep waters. 
 

Closest I could tell. It seemed to jive with a large no-wake zone. 
 

I cross referenced with Navionics and nothing.  Nothing similar on that map site. 

Standing timber? ...would be my first guess, even if below the waterline.

 

Looks like a trident, so maybe Neptune's domain?

I emailed C-Map today.  I really hope they have the same answer!

I thought it looked like a pineapple field in Hawaii.
