13 Envy 7'6" MH Application Suggestions?

Featured Replies

A few years ago I bought a 13 Rods Envy Black 7'6" medium-heavy (ebc76mh).  It was sort of an impulse buy for throwing frogs.  It is rated 3/8-1 1/4 oz and it *works* for frogging, but I have since found a rod I like much better for that application.  It will throw a frog a long ways, but it's tough to walk a frog with the longer rod.  I did some research and found that Stetson Blaylock designed the rod to use for throwing flutter spoons offshore as well as big spinner baits.  Just wondering what sort of application others might use this rod for?  It's pretty stiff up until the last foot or foot and a half.  Pitching jigs?  The rod is super nice but has been sitting on my rack for a couple years, would be great to hear some ideas!!

Spinnerbaits and chatterbaits!! I love longer MH rods. Being 6'1 i feel that I can get away with longer rods because they dont slap the water when I'm holding the rod down low like they would with a shorty lol

Fashion shoots for Instagram!  Make sure you hold the rod behind the reel,m which should be upside down.

But seriously, folks...I think it would probably make a nice rod for pitching jigs, by your description.  Try a few different weights with the trailers you like.  There's usually a sweet spot for every rod.

6'5" here so I know how you feel!  Thanks for the suggestion.  Definitely chatterbaits in the 1/2oz and above range I'd think

I'll have to see if I can find a good hand model hahaha.  Need to experiment for sure, once this ice melts
