Anyone fish San Vicente recently? (San Diego)

Featured Replies

We plan to head up there this weekend and rent a boat.  Through some research, it seems like drop shot is the go to at this lake, but if anyone else can suggest baits and areas to try that would be much appreciated.  Will be our first time here.

Thanks!

Don’t get me stated on what a Texas Rig is. I always use a bullet weight when calling it a T-rig, otherwise it’s a weightless worm rig.

Sliding bullet weight, 8 mm glass faceted bead with Owner 5100 size 3/0 hook for 7” Roboworm and 12 FC.

PS, little late answering.

We only got 3.  Here is the biggest one my son caught.  The other two were in the 2 lb range and caught site fishing with live shad.   This was our first time at SV and it was kind of a nightmare with a rental boat and no trolling motor.  The wind and current was blowing us all over the place.   Also, the lake floor is super snaggy with huge trees all over the place.  I lost about 6 drop shot set ups.
