Garmin 94SV Interference

Featured Replies

Not getting very clear images on my Garmin unit at the console. I can see the bottom well and what I think are fish, but there are tons of streaks and smudges on the screen that definitely shouldn't be there. I want to know how to fix this. thanks

Is the unit hooked to the same battery as the TM, or is the transducer mounted to the TM?

If the former, need a rectifier circuit between the unit and the battery at the very least...second/separate battery would be better.

If the latter - the TM can cause RFI to 'jumble' the signal somewhat...need to mount the transducer in a different location.

it is attached to the right side of the back transom and is connected to a separate electronics battery

Thanks for the help anyways. I will mess around later in case you are on to something. I did use alligator clips which is far from ideal as I didn't have the chance to wire them correctly prior to a trip last year.

I always use crimp-connectors with a touch of solder on all connections.
