I am curious about the different sections of the upper Castaic lake. There are 2 ramps, the main and the west with the dam in between. Im curious if there is shore/bank fishing on the Northern shore (Sharon's rest etc) as well as the western tip of the western side and Elizabeth canyon. Those sections look interesting on the map! Thank you!

The land around Castiac is US forest land not private land. Some areas are closed for safety and most are extremely difficult to access. 

The north shore is open to shore fishing but impossible to walk to without a boat, the Elderberry dam (Forebay) is closed to public access.

You can fish both ramp areas if the West ramp is open.

If I were you, I'd seriously consider renting a boat to fish Castaic..So many good spots you will miss w/o a boat.
