Daiwa Tatula Elite Ehrler M-MH/F "Finesse" casting rod

Does anyone have any experience with the Daiwa Tatula Elite Ehrler M-MH/F "Finesse" casting rod?

I am considering selling one of my MH/F casting rods and upgrading it. My primary intended use would be for soft plastics and finesse jigs, but I was also wondering how it would handle a 1/2oz spinnerbait and if that works, how about a chatterbait (with a trailer), mainly if I opt to not carry the other MH rod.

I don't have the Daiwa Tatula Elite Ehrler but I do love my Daiwa Tatula SV/TW and I have always used Shimano over Diawa but once you try the Daiwa Tatula you become a bit hooked on it. The Daiwa Tatula Elite Ehrler looks to be almost the same as the Tatula SV/TW and i think that you will love it and I use mine for everything from 1/8 oz and up and it is great for pitching and spinnerbait fishing.

SV tw are reels, not rods.

I have that rod and it is well suitedfor bottom contact presentations.

Too stiff for a spinnerbait IMO, likely the same for a chatterbait.

Honestly, I was more worried it might be too underpowered for larger spinnerbaits or chatterbaits. I can deal with it being too stiff, just not underpowered. It's a secondary application for me as I'm mainly interested in the ability to throw a spinnerbait or a chatterbait in the event I only bring two or three rods with me on the kayak.

I ended up picking one up because I found one used that seems to be in good shape so saved me a few.

Well it arrived today, several days earlier than I was expecting. You're right though, this one really is stiff. My Tatula extra fast isn't quite this fast and is nowhere near this fast relatively considering it's a slightly heavier power rod.

It's a bit scuffed and I had the clean the reel seat, but everything else is intact.

I'm curious to know what you think after you fish it, particularly with bottom contact stuff.

Me too! I hear it throws real light soft plastics well. I'll get to try it out Saturday.

Do you hate the rod you want to sell? If not, I’d keep it. Some time in the future you’ll need it again.

No, not at all, I just don't have room on the rod rack

Put it in a closet. Put it in the garage. I don’t even have a rod rack.

@txchaser so I made it out for a little bit today. I had to feed my youngest son, so we got some food and went up to a local lake. Didn't catch anything, but I threw it in what will soon be a fairly weedy spot but now the weeds are primary dead and floating. I threw a 1/8oz weight on with a t-rigged senko and still bomb cast it further than I needed to, probably could have gone weightless to be honest.

While I didn't catch a fish, I did catch some decent piles of weed and a branch in the water, and it feels like it should definitely have enough power to pull them out of a little bit of cover.

Back at it tomorrow.

So I made it out again today. I didn't catch anything but missed a few, one was likely a decent bass and the others I think were mostly panfish nipping at my bait and one that I think was a rainbow trout but the guy next to me thought it was a perch. I was casting a weightless 7" powerworm and when the wind was still it cast beautifully but I ended up throwing on a 1/8oz weight to help casting into the wind as it was fairly strong at times.

My youngest did catch a 2.5lb larry on his new rod (St Croix Mojo Bass Plastics rod) so that was pretty sweet and later we grabbed dinner and switched locations and he pulled in another small one on a jerkbait.
