Fork - Zaldain's glide bait

Featured Replies

To anyone watching the Lake Fork tourney live... Chris Zaldain just mentioned this morning the maker of the glide bait he is using. It sound like he said "Buddy Knapp" out of North Carolina, but I'm certain I'm getting some of that wrong. Zaldain said it's just a guy out of his garage. Does anyone have any idea the maker he might be talking about? Thanks.

I fish big baits, pretty familiar with most of the glides out there but I've never heard that name. Any way you could post a pic? If it's somewhat common I could probably ID it just by looking at a picture. Was it big, or just 7" or so?

Does look like a Tater Hog  (company name), either the Hog Father (8", 4.5oz) or the Hog Father Jr (6", about 2oz). They're pricey, $225-ish.

No thanks. Too rich for my blood. I'll 3D print or carve something similar before I fork over that kind of cash.

I can dig it. I guess when you win $100k and a new boat one week you can go out and buy a $200 bait the next week, no sweat. Life is life, let that man do his thing.

When did Zaldain win $100,000 and a new boat?

No idea, figure of speech. Translation: he's won enough money fishing to spend $200 on a bait. Proof? He spent $200 on a bait.

Oh for sure, if I could write those baits off on my taxes as a work expense, well that's a totally different situation.

I doubt he’s is spending anything on the baits. Someone at his level should be getting free tackle, even $200 glides.

That's the proof? Ummm okay, plenty of guys spend $200 on baits, I guess that doesn't mean they have won $100,000 and a new boat. We have a few members that probably own more than Chris does and they are not even pros. LOL

He certainly seemed pretty shook up about both the bait and the fish when he broke one off!
