Nichols Shattered Glass Blades

Hey ya'll,

Was browsing the Nichols site the other day planning for a future order and took another glance at their shattered glass series of baits. Then I looked in the custom shop and realized that it may be possible to get the shattered glass blades in colorado. Wondering if anyone has used the shattered glass blades and how well they produce and under what conditions? Did a quick google search and don't think a thread has been made on these blades before.

About 20 years ago when Dave Nichols owned his company I had Dave make double Hologram Indiana blade pearl white 1/2 oz spinnerbaits. After fishing those that was the only spinnerbait needed where I fish. No one makes a double Indiana blade spinner bait and works great everywhere*.

Broken Glass should be good to reflect more light, try them.

PS, sold all my lures last year and a BR member bought the custom  Nichols spinnerbaits and posted a picture of the bass he caught on the *east coast.

Something else to consider is just getting the blades.  This is not a Nichols blade but it is the same hammered foil concept.

Instead of having a spinnerbait in every size, color, and blade configuration, I carry my favorite spinnerbait styles along with blades of all sizes & shapes.  It takes no time to switch out a #4 for a #5, etc.  I do the same thing with skirt colors.

Thanks for the suggestion. I like carrying blades too :).
