Big Sluggo's.

Featured Replies

Before the Senko, I was a big Sluggo fan. A Red Shad or Peal White Sluggo on the Lower Potomac could be a big producer at times. I still like Sluggo's at times though and as I was looking for some more rainbow trout colored Sluggo's the other day in 6" because all of our lakes are stocked to the brim full of trout and I have had a lot of luck using them on my local waters for green bass. I saw in the saltwater section some BIG 9" ones intended for stripers. With all the talk of everyone uses big swim baits, I was wondering if any of you ever tried these big baits on green bass? ;)

Never tried 9", but I am a Slug-Go fan.

I think my sizes are 4" & 6", but I honestly don't find them to be much different in terms of production.

The 9" ones work great for stripers but never tried one on a monster greenie.  A bass is a bass though right?  We used to use them around the eel grass islands in the Warren river and along the Barrington shore which also holds a lot of eel grass.

40+ inch fish swooshing on one of those sure is a rush but many of the small schoolies (12-16") found them tough to swallow but beat the heck out of them anyway.  The smaller guys tail slap them , lots of fun but can be frustrating.

We found that the salty super fluke, even though it's a lot smaller, still triggers strikes from the bigger girls but also allows you to get a hook in the schoolies.

But if you only want big ones...........;)  I think I'd give it a go.  The 3 pack comes with it's own hook (slug-go) a 9/0 I believe.

Good luck Jim!

I have nver used the big sluggo but I have used the 10" Fin-S-fish in the rainbow trout color and have had a lot of hits on it but I haven't hooked one... yet.  I am sure they will hit your sluggo.

Yea, when they came out with the fin-s, we were 1/2 way there,lol...zoom took it the rest of the way (or was it bassassin?) but I never knew the fin-s came in a 10",...good to know.

Yeah, Zoom perfected it  ;)  Love their fluke.

Go to Lunkercity.com.  They sell them direct and they have a ton of colors and sizes.  I bought some of the 10 inchers from BPS about 8 or 9 years ago.
