7.8" Keitechs

Featured Replies

For as much as I hear about the mid-sized ones, I don't hear many people talking about these. Usually it's a magdraft or 3:16. Do they not scale up well, there are better alternatives at that size, or something else?

I've fished a decent amount with the 6.8" - they work, but just about everything will bite them and I don't recall any outsized catches on them. Seem to do about the same as the 3.8 or 4.3.

I do really well with the 6.8 size. I don’t think going up 1 inch will catch you any bigger fish.

I have thrown the 7.8 very briefly on a 1oz warbait head, the action certainly scales up.  It moves great.  I went away from it for a bit but plan on using it as a "ledge" search bait this summer, alternating with a scrounger/jerky j.  I also bought the 8" gambler swimbait.  Both of these are significant chunks of plastic, I'd expect that they'd have some serious dink deterrent.
