I'm currently looking at the Shimano Chronarch g but haven't had much luck finding reviews on it. does anyone have any thoughts on the Chronarch series and is it worth the extra money over the Curado series

I wanted to experience a Chronarch and bought one.  The instructions said oil a couple of places every trip to keep it top notch.  That did indeed work.  If I didn’t, after a couple of trips it wouldn’t cast very good so it now lives in New York state and I am back to various Curados.

Check out tackle tour website, they have some detailed write ups on various models in the review archive section.

From personal experience, I love the Curado K.

I can attest to the Curado line being a great series of reels. I've put well over 300 bass in addition to gators, redfish, snook, speckled trout, and even a small tarpon one time through my Curado DC. I've cleaned the internals after every saltwater use and I also oiled it every now and then with just freshwater use and it's still smooth as butter after 2 years.

The Chronarch G is the saltwater safe(r) version of the MGL version. So just read the MGL reviews. I know I personally wrote a nice long review on this website on my experience with the 4 that I own.

With all that being said, I prefer the Chronarch line over the Curado. I like the form factor a little better, plus the MGL spool slings baits like no other. It also handles lighter weight baits a little better as well. However, neither is a bad platform at all.
