How to sell rods and reels

Featured Replies

I’d really like to sell some of my rods and reels of decent quality but I’m not sure what platform would be best for me to sell them on. Any recommendations on how to sell this gear would be greatly appreciated.

List the gear in the flea market section.

Simple as that

It's kind of a seller's market anywhere right now.

If you don't like packing and mailing, craigslist still works.

I've been shipping rods and reels around for 20 years (including Japan, Malaysia, UK, even Australia), and don't mind packing and USPS Priority Mail, buying postage online.

Over the last couple of months, I quickly sold two reels and a spool on BR forum's Fishing Flea Market | Fishing Classifieds (bassresource.com)

I've been selling tackle on tackle forums, especially including antiques, cane and glass fly rods and vintage reels, for a long time, and I'm pretty good at accurate descriptions and good photos, which tend to make people want to keep looking at your listing, and to know what to expect from you.

I buy and sell a lot, Facebook Marketplace has been the best for me. They've added a new shipping feature that makes you add you're bank account and the payment process goes through facebook pay. But, I get around that by selecting Local Pickup Only and then adding that I will ship and accept payment via PayPal in the Product Description. One of the best & fastest ways to sell is to join a Daiwa, Shimano, Lews, or a General Fishing Buy and Sell Group and post it in there. That's all I use FB for.

Or you could use the Flea Market on this site, it's also pretty good. I should actually give it more of a chance.
