Just receive a Stradic CI4+ 1000HG and mainly fish for bass what rod should i pair it with?

Featured Replies

ATM i have a Shimano Compre Medium Fast is it good enough?
Or should i pair it with my ULTRALIGHT rod?
What power or action is good with a 1000hg reel?

Thank you

You could use that 1000-size on a medium rod, but it's definitely not ideal.

The Ultra-light matched to that reel would be a great panfish/trout rod.

Or you could get a Light or Medium-Light rod and it'd make a really good finesse rod for bass - I use 1000-size on both those...Light for ultra-finesse and medium-light for general finesse.

I mainly fish bass/walleye with what power and action u recommend?

I'd go with a Medium-Light/Fast rod and chase bass with finesse techniques.

It's not ideal for walleye, but again, light/small lures are the ticket there.

ML Zodias is a great match for that reel.

The 7' L power Zodias is also a killer rod. It's like the perfect ned rig rod.

The Stradic CI4 size 1000 reel good for bass, rod length, power and action should suit how you fish.

My son used the 1000 Stradic for over 20 years on a Medium fast Phenix split shot rod catching lots of big bass. We use Maxima 5# Ultra Green Copolymer line.
