Lowrance LSS-1 StructureScan Sonar

What y'all think?

  • Super User

I think enough that I paid over $400.00 for one a guy decided not to use and I don't even have a HDS unit to install it in yet.

Sending you a pm Catt.

The screen shots I have seen posted on several web sites look good. If you have a LEI HDS unit, it is the least expensive way to have that technology.

A friend sent me this screen shot of a submerged bridge at Lake Fork showing the Down Scan feature:

Which HDS unit?  :)

From everything I have read the Structure Scan is awesome.  My only problem is I just bought a couple of LMS 520Cs about a year and a half ago.  While I can afford to buy the new equipment, I can hear my wife now:  "Why do you need to buy new HD and LSS units when you just bought these other units 18 months ago."  :)

Catt, he has the HDS-7 for an in-dash mount.

If you do not have an HDS, I would suggest you check out each model's specifications before purchasing one.

I settled on an HDS 8 for now.  After I sale my LMS and 27/28 units I"ll likely buy a 10 for the console and move the 8 to the front.

I think they're pretty incredible units.

Heck dick, just buy the 10 and sell me your 8. You don't need the 8 up front, way to big...LOL.

I agree with fishfordollars, that 8 is much too big to use up front. :B) I have a 5 (w/Lake Insight) that has only been used one season that I am willing to trade... ;D

Sorry fishfordollars I couldn't resist. :)
