If left on a book when you're done fishing I know Gulp baits will dry up and become hard. Does MaxScent do that? If they dont get hard do they lose their effectiveness and need some sort of juice to soak in? If left on a hook for say a week, should I throw it back in the pack and use a fresh one?

With the extremely small sample size of "a single bag of the chunk trailers", no they do not.  They get a little thinner and the texture becomes almost like thick felt/soft leather, but they stay soft and floaty.  

 

I lost the one that was in use for 18-20 months, but these two have been in use for like a year and have been on and off jigs a few times each.  The scent is long gone but the plastics are still going strong.  

 

Fished some of the lunch worm on the kayak last week and after being left out in the sun all day, they dried out but the other bags I had in the tackle bag were fine.   All of the bags I have were purchased in 2019.  So if guess if you keep them out direct sunlight,  you'll be fine.   Also, I have noticed that the older these get the easier they tare, worse than senkos.

Since using it last 2 weeks ago its been in my house in a rod rack so I'm sure all the scent is gone but I'm about to go fishing so I'll probably end up throwing it back in the bag and using a fresh one. 

 

It makes me think though that as far as scent goes, Max Scent baits may be a one time use deal because the bags dont have any liquid like Gulp does to recharge them. So once it all seeps out its just another stick bait its looking like. Ive also thought about using an empty lure bag and putting all the used Max Scent lures in it and spraying some Bang in the bag to see if it will soak in.
