Well, I didn't really steal it but close.

Gander Mtn had the Fortrex 80# with US2 on an "end of season" sale.   I got the last one still in the box.

Only $750!   

Wasn't sure I wanted the US2 option but at that price I couldnt' pass it up!  Should be a big improvement over my MK Maxxum 65# SC!

Just can't wait for "ice out" to try it out.

I paid $200 more than that on sale. Great buy! I think you will like the TM and the US2 is a really nice feature.

Edit: I just checked my sales receipt. You saved $260 on my price.

After looking at this post I decided to go to my local Gander Mountain and see if they had any trolling motors on sale.  As it turns out they had a Minnkota Maxxum 70 that was normally $799 on clearance for just a little over $500.  Not as good a deal as a the Fortrex 80 for $750 but  I had been wanting the minnkota with the maximizer feature so I pulled the trigger on it.   Cant wait till spring!

Thanks for the heads up, I just went to my local Gander Mtn and sure enough they had a Fortrex for $750 so I got it. Needed a new one but didn't want to spend over a grand to get what I wanted.
