double drop shotting
i've tried a drop-shot with a jig underneath it but the hook set for a d/s is a lot different than the hook set for a jig. a sweep and reel set might not do for a bite on my jig, resulting in a lost fish. also if you try and bury the hook for a jig bite you might snap the typically light d/s line. i'll fish with two combos, a d/s and a jig and see what the fish want then go with that one. so guys, what am i missing? i'm sure this technique works for others but it just seems like two polar opposing techniques. i'm more comfortable picking one or the other. regards, Casca

Fishing Forearm?
do you cast using just one hand/arm? if you do try using a two handed cast. i have small hands and basically need to cast this way and have never had a problem with my arms or shoulder. i don't stretch for fishing but i should, it can only help. i know you'll keep fishing 'till your arm falls off, hopefully it won't. best of luck. regards, Casca

Can you help me Identify this fish? Definately not native.
we get these in the ponds i fish occasionally. they're a (pacu)common aquarium fish, they'll get huge if they have the space to grow.too big sometimes,so they get dumped into the nearest pond.

Keeping the Bugs Away
plenty of good suggestions so far but don't forget long sleeve shirts, full length pants and a mosquito head net will help. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_60261____SearchResults

how upset do you get when you lose a fish?
if it's a good fish and it just comes undone i feel like i've been punched in the stomach but not mad. if the knot slips then i'm fuming!!!

Catch Phrase

Anyone Kayak Fishing?
buddies are cool but two buddies in a canoe increase the chances of tipping over. you ALWAYS have to be aware when one of you is shifting or moving. casting can be tricky too, with two anglers in such close proximity.

Loomis or powell?
information for life. buy the best you can "afford". i know this sounds crazy but there are higher priorities than fishing. i own several Powell's and i'm extremely pleased with them. that being said, i can't wait to buy my first Loomis. the 704 Powell i think would be great for the applications you mentioned. regards, Casca

feeling sexy?
don't have one of these but i haven't heard anything good about these. i own several swim baits, and i'd tell you that you'll probably have to spend a bit more for a quality bait. you can also try a good soft bait closer to the price of a sexy. regards, Casca
