big 10"

Featured Replies

I have some 10 worms, and im curious, would it be smarter to fish these with a pegged sinker, or a slip sinker, or are we just letting the cover in the area determine this. Actually, i have these hooks, they are made by luck-e-strike. They are called the perfect worm rig, and its basically like and oversized jobee hook. Its a 4/0 hook and a 1/4 oz. weight. Is a 4/0 hook a little small? It seems to me if the fish doesnt get the hook in its mouth, its either small, or not a bass

The only wrong way to fish a worm is not to fish it at all, I prefer not to peg, & I use a 4/0 hook on 7 up to 10 worms.

I use 5/0 hooks on pretty much any worm 7" or more. If it cant fit the 5/0 in its mouth, I dont need to catch it anyway.  :o

I agree 100%.

I thought that this post was going to be about a "record of my favorite blues" :o

I use the 7/0 Owner hooks on my 10-12" worms and I don't miss many. You just have to give the fish time to eat the worm before setting it. I have noticed that when using a worm of that size, if I get smacked real hard, it is normally a 1-2lber. Smaller fish hit a big bait with the intent of killing it while a 5+ wont hit as hard... normally.
