Power poles and trolling

Featured Replies

I am considering power poles, never had them before. I do mostly bass fishing but now and then I do like to troll for trout. Question is will the power poles get in the way of the fishing line from trolling rods? I was going to get the longer poles which stick up a bit more. Do they get in the way?

I've never trolled for trout but I've trolled shiners behind the boat for bass and my poles have never been an issue. I will usually deploy them down half way just up off the bottom or so. I sometimes forget they're there. All I know is the benefits FAR outweigh the negatives IMHO.

I sometimes drag fish and mine got in the way.  I also discovered that they didn’t get down far enough for most of the way that I fish.
