I have a friend of a friend that bought the wrong rod and is getting rid of it. How do you think this would work for general jig fishing? Any other good uses for it?

Perfect for 1/2 oz plus. I use mine for Carolina rigs which I normally throw on 1/2 - 1 oz.

if your  fishing big  jigs great. i use mine for 1/2 plus jigs 10 inch worms on a heavy sinker 3/8 or so.light flipping , football jigs carolina rig a rig. useful rod.

Perfect, exactly what I was hoping to hear. Yes I should have been more specific but I was thinking 1/2oz and up jigs and large worms Carolina rigged more than likely.

1/2 and 3/4oz jigs, C-Rigs with at least ideally a 3/4oz weight or a moderate punching setup with a similar weight.
