Modern Day G Loomis Bronzeback?
I have an older Loomis bronzeback 7’3” Ex Fast 1/8-3/8 that I love for inshore saltwater fishing. I’ve been looking for a current rod that is similar in feel/power but with all the technique specific rods I have no idea where to start. I’m a bit lost so if anyone knows a current IMX or GCX spec that would be very similar I would greatly appreciate your help!

StC Victory Spinning Rod Selection
Looking for some input on a rod to cover my inshore saltwater needs (slot reds and sea trout). Historically I’ve always used a 7’-7’4” M/F with light braid and throw (think, 3/0 Gama SuperLine) to a spook jr or Rapala skitterwalk. Tried a shimano Zodias but found it to be very fast and the guides were tiny and not great for braid to leader. Never really thought about it before, but the Victory line from st croix sounds like a good fit. I think the “slower” action, while still labeled fast or XF, will give the rod some versatility. my issue is that a lot of my research has found people throwing neds and drop shot on them and make me think they’re lighter power rods for their ratings? I’m wondering if the 73MXF or the 71MHF would be the choice? Hoping those with these rods may be able to chime in.

Jerkbait rod suggestions?
How small are the guides? Will a braid to leader knot go through easily?

20 or 30lb braid?
Awesome, appreciate the input everyone. Just grabbed some sufix 832 in 20lb. I looked at the 30 but figured if I wanted to see a noticeable difference I may need to make more of a step down. We’ll see how it plays out!

20 or 30lb braid?
Currently have 40 on my SLX that I’m going to put on a new medium rod to use for jerkbaits, some lipless baits, and small spinnerbaits so I’d like to go with a smaller diameter braid. I plan to use 12lb leader, but is 20lb braid too small? Go with 30? Mainly worried about it digging into itself but have never used less than 40 on a bait caster.

If you're ever in South GA...Jiffy Jigs
That’s pretty cool. I live in north Georgia but go down 16 to Savannah quite a bit. May need to make some time to check them out one day

Large worms and setup
Resurrecting an old thread…anyone know of any off the shelf 5/0-7/0 swing heads? Thinking it’d be a great option for large worms in deep water this summer but can’t think of any. Gamakatsu has a individual tungsten swing head in various weights to use with hook of your choosing but they’re $10 a pop. Hoping there’s something a little more cost effective out there.

Anyone Ever Have This Happen?
Take the braid off and use some mono to start the spool. It’ll grip and prevent the slipping you’re seeing.

Chad Shad or Baitsanity Gill?
Baitsanity is a great bait that gets bit and sounds like it may be more versatile for you

Black Friday - iRod
Does anyone know if tackle warehouse Black Friday sale has a discount on irods? Looking at a new rod and being this close, hate to pull the trigger if they normally are on sale.

Spinnerbaits and big bass
What brands do y’all like for a single Colorado? I just did a search on TW for single blade spinner baits and they all seem to be black baits with black or gold blades, or a tandem blade setup. just buy a tandem Colorado and use snips to cut the front blade off?

Medium for wacky/T rig?
Looking to get my dad a setup to replace his old rod. He’s pretty simple and enjoys just throwing a zoom finesse worm t rig or a wacky or weightless senko/dinger. Looking at the Daiwa Procyon 7’ M 1/4-3/4oz rod. Would this be enough to set the hook on a weightless dinger with a 4/0 hook? Will be using braid. just no experience with this rod and don’t want to overestimate the abilities.

7” Senko
Weightless weedless as in Texas rigged?

Cardiff drag adds resistance?
@Delaware Valley Tackle resurrecting this, you helped me out last time and I bought another one and having the same issue but can’t remember what the fix was from the phone call. I remember it was a spindle or something I think you called it? Similar sounding word maybe?

7” Senko
How many of y’all throw them? Y’all wacky rigging or Texas rig? Recommendations on hooks/size for them? trying to add something new this year

The latest sale thread
For what it’s worth, I didn’t even catch that the 20% on TW was in reality only 15%. I checked and sure enough somehow missed that. Under 6 minutes on the phone with them and had it fixed and a new order summary emailed to me - just in case anyone else experiences this too
