Vessel View Merc Pro XS

Featured Replies

Does anyone have Vessel View installed whether it be the mobile version or one connected to a gauge?

I am thinking about picking one up to help show issues, and engine hours for services. They are not crazy expensive ($220), but wondering if it is worth it or not. Additionally if someone does have it hooked up to a display can you show me what your setup is?

Thanks

I've been running Mercury Smart Craft Gauge since 2016.

First on an Optimax and currently on the new ProXS both 200 HP.

The benefit of it for me is peace of mind.

By monitoring multiple boat and motor functions, including speed, rpm, trim, depth, various alarms, water pressure, fuel flow and more, I get fair warning in advance of catastrophe.

I would never own / run a rig without one.

I have one for my Pro XS (115 hp version). Only takes a couple of mins to install and is very user friendly. I have only had the boat for a few months so haven't had any error codes come across yet, but that feature and the hour gauge were big enough reasons for me to pull the trigger on it.

A-Jay,

Did you mount the external gauge somewhere specific? I am not sure I have a spot on my console for it, I do near the controls, but I am deathly afraid of cutting in a gauge there. Maybe I will stick with the mobile version for that reason alone.

It's not an extra on my rig.

It replaces the standard speedometer right in the same console location.

The digital information appears in the 'window'.

Gotcha that makes sense. I am going to leave my normal gauges alone, but I think I am going to order the mobile version. I appreciate the help on this one. I kind of wish my dealer talked to me more about stuff like this along with upselling stuff like Power Poles etc for add ons.

One last question. Can you check the engine hours without the motor running? Like if I turn the key on, can I use it like an OBDII code checker?

Yes, I only use the mobile version. I do not have a smart craft gauge that is compatible.
