Got a black dog baits shellcracker,and a few other custom wakes, with broken or ripped tails and looking for ideas on what material would work to fabricate my own tails, would prefer a firm rubber like material similar to the r2s s-waver rather than hard plastic. Looked into lexan but it’s all clear, would like the option of colors, any ideas appreciated.

Go to work with a Sharpie and clear lexan can be any color you want.  Just a thought - don't know how long it might last - would be pretty cheap to try.

Black Dog had replacement tails.

I believe the early Wooden Shellcracker used a PC board for the tail material.

I've been checking bdb's website about every week for over a year, they never have them in stock. You talking about circuit board materials like they use for crankbait bills?

Yes, check with Don Osborne at Swimbait City, he is very knowledgeable regarding Black Dogs and may have some tails or knows where to get replacements.
