If You Wanted To Mack Out A 10' Jon Boat...

With a 3.5 hp Mercury w/ trolling motor...

What would you do on a 1k budget? (Besides sell and upgrade)

Bells, whistles? Whatcha got?

I would add a light level carpeted floor and 2 foldable seats. That's it! No room to really play with weight on a 10 footer.

Like TopDog said, a light flat floor and seats would be nice. Perhaps build a small storage box/trolling motor platform at the bow, and a nice sonar. Thats about all you'll have room for on a 10' Jon.

Good suggestions!

I'm trying to think outside the box, though.

But for now I like both of those ideas... Nice.

Then spend the rest on electronics. When you upgrade, you can re-install on the next boat. Good luck.

I hope you're not thinking of decking to the benches or above.  Cause if you are, you might fall outside the box.

Take this lierally.

That 10ftr your thinking bout pimpen out, better check the weights, #275 at best for most lil crafts that size.....you go adding seats, motors, a battery, and then try to deck it...your asking for trouble.

keep it simple and fish it for what it is, a small boat.

Trust me, I own one.
